Cachexia is associated with decreased survival in cancer patients and has a prevalence of up to 80%. In this study, we applied shotgun metagenomics to collected stool samples from lung cancer patients with known cachexia status, aiming for a deeper understanding of the role of human gut microbiome in cachexia under clinical settings.
