The aim of this study is to determine whether Plasmepsin X (PMX) is the molecular target of a 2-piperazino-pyrimidine compound (FPSA), which exhibits antimalarial activity during the asexual blood stage of Plasmodium falciparum. To this end, we compare the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) elicited by FPSA treatment with those induced by WM382, a known PMX inhibitor.
