Vibrio harveyi are Gram-negative bacteria that are primarily found in tropical and temperate marine environments as free-living organisms or in association with aquatic animals as commensal or pathogenic organisms. In this study, we report the sequenced genome of Vibrio harveyi CAIM 1792, the etiologic agent of the bright-red syndrome vibriosis of the Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). Sample was isolated from a lesion of a diseased shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei).
