Genome of Naganishia adeliensis Ng1, and its mutualistic interaction with plants from different families

Plant-associated microbiota contribute to plant health by different mechanisms: by providing nutrients, activating the innate plant defense systems, competing against pathogens in the soil, and/or synthesizing plant hormones. Naganishia adeliensis Ng1 is a plant promoter yeast that also protects from pathogen infection. The goal of sequencing N. adeliensis Ng1 was to determine potential pathways for synthesis of metabolites for plant growth promotion and other potential industrial applications.
