For a matrix of the first four leaves of the developmental series of ten Vitis species, blade and vein swaps between species and across the series are performed. A two tower CNN creates a common embedding space between vein and blade shapes in numerous matched and mismatched leaf series to investigate how developmental constraints in the leaf play out across species and development.
