资源简介:
We employ the CESM239, which integrates the Community Atmospheric Model version 6 (CAM6), the Community Land Model version 5 (CLM5), the Community Ice Code version 5.1.2 (CICE5), and the Parallel Ocean version 2 (POP2). CAM6 and CLM5 have a nominal horizontal resolution of ~1°x1° (1.25° in longitude and 0.9° in latitude) with 32 vertical levels. POP2 has 60 levels in the vertical, with a horizontal resolution of 1° in longitude and roughly 1/3° in latitude near the equator, gradually increasing to about 1/2° near the poles. CICE5 has the same horizontal resolution as the ocean model. We have conducted an idealized experiment with negative CO2 emissions, in line with climate change mitigation efforts and advances in carbon dioxide removal technology. Anthropogenic CO2 emissions are increased linearly from 2000 to 2050 according to the SSP5-8.5 scenario, starting from an initial CO2 concentration of 383 ppm. After 2050, emissions are reduced at the same rate until 2197, when the CO2 concentration returns to its initial level of 383 ppm. From 2197, zero emissions are sustained until the end of the simulation (year 2400). The atmospheric CO2 concentration reaches its peak of 725 ppm in 2107. For the control experiment, we use a 100-year long PD experiment at 383 ppm (year 2000 level). There are 10 ensemble members with slightly different initial conditions.
