The minimal anonymized data set for manuscript PONE-D-25-46450to replicate the study findings

This dataset contains the data required to replicate analyses in Zheng (in review), testing the hypothesis that the transmission period of hand, foot, and mouth diseases shift after the a monovalent EV-A71 vaccine was introduced at the end of 2016 in Guangxi, Southern China. The genetic sequencing of VP1 regions of EV-A71, CVA6, and CVA10 serotype of enterovirus are also provided. Data cover more than 110 counties in Guangxi, Southern China.Weekly-reported data included number of cases in each week, and two time periods (2009 - 2016, 2017 - 2022) necessary for analyses. Genetic data include three datasets of nucleotide sequencing were provided to facilitate analyses. Analysis of plantform metrics found that A prolonged but lower peak of HFMD occurred in the spring, and a late, higher peak presented during fall in the post-vaccination period. The typical half-year transmission cycle disappeared, the one-year cycle did not change, and the CVA16 and CVA6 serotypes have the potential to replace EV-A71 as the predominant strains.
