University of Michigan Museum of Zoology, Microbes, Parasites, and Biodiversity Initiative

Through the efforts of University of Michigan faculty-curators and staff, the Museum of Zoology (UMMZ) develops and maintains excellent zoological collections explicitly for use in research and education benefiting science, society, and the university.

The goal of the Microbes, Parasites, and Biodiversity Initiative (MPABI) is to increase research capacity for emerging zoonoses by providing a repository for wildlife tissues and vouchers that link disease agents to their hosts and environments which ultimately connect to humans and our public health.
