The present study was conducted to determine the compositional responses of estuarine and pristine seawater bacterial communities in response to cross-transplantation of viruses and DOM, which are of different quantities and qualities. The communities were characterized by applying 454 pyrosequencing to 16S rRNA gene. This comparative study allows us to get insights into the ecological and biogeochemical roles of bacteria in transferring energy and materials.
