3D Photogrammetric Reconstruction of the Julius Caesar Portrait from the Roman Theatre of Terracina (Italy)

High‑resolution 3D photogrammetric reconstruction of the marble portrait traditionally attributed to Julius Caesar, recovered from the Roman Theatre of Terracina (Ancient Latium, Italy). The model was generated through a calibrated photogrammetric workflow, including dense‑cloud processing, mesh refinement, and PBR‑based texture development. Morphological analysis highlights characteristic late‑Republican features and the presence of drill holes for the attachment of a laurel crown, an iconographic marker associated with Caesar’s public representation during the dictatorship. The reconstruction supports research in Roman portraiture, sacred topography, landscape archaeology, and the cultural history of Terracina, with specific reference to the monumental complex of Monte Sant’Angelo / Sanctuary of Jupiter Anxur.
