ATOMIC Saildrone NOAA: Near-surface meteorology, air-sea fluxes, surface ocean waves, and near-surface ocean properties (temperature, salinity, currents) measured by in-situ instruments aboard two Saildrones in the North Atlantic Ocean east and southeast of Barbados: Atlantic Tradewind Ocean-Atmosphere Mesoscale Interaction Campaign 2020-01-13 to 2020-04-11 (NCEI Accession 0224404)

The Atlantic Tradewind Ocean-Atmosphere Mesoscale Interaction Campaign (ATOMIC) was a field campaign held January-February 2020 in the tropical North Atlantic east of Barbados. The campaign, the U.S. complement to the European field campaign called EUREC4A, was aimed at better understanding cloud and air-sea interaction processes. ATOMIC included measurements from a NOAA WP-3D Orion "Hurricane Hunter" aircraft, the research ship Ronald H. Brown, and unpiloted vehicles launched from Barbados and from the Ronald H. Brown. This accession contains Saildrone data in netCDF files.
