Raspberry (Rubus chingii Hu.) is recognized as a plant with both medicinal and nutritional benefits, but the role of its polysaccharides (RCP) in protecting against liver damage caused by type 2 diabetes (T2D) and the underlying mechanisms involving the gut-liver axis has yet to be fully elucidated. In this study, we used a 16S rRNA gene sequencing approach to analyze the gut microbiome in feces of normal control (CON) mice, type 2 diabetic (T2D) mice, and RCP-treated T2D mice. Moreover, a LC-MS-based metabolomics method was applied to analyze metabolic changes in serum of CON, T2D and RCP mice.
