Transcriptional profiling of Caco2 cells infected with Encephalitizoon intestinalis

Encephalitizoon intestinalis infection occurs in immunocompromised individuals and has relatively few treatment options due to the lack of understanding of impact of microsporidia life cycle on host molecular effects. We profiled transcriptome of a physiologically relevant intestinal epithelial cell line to understand what cellular processes are most impacted. Overall design: Cells were grown to confluency and then infected with 100 µl of ~10^6 spores/ml solution and maintained for 14 days.
