Real-time traffic data

Data sets with metadata for traffic measurement in Aarhus and live/real time measurements of traffic in Aarhus Municipality. Purpose of collection: The collected data is part of Aarhus Municipality, Traffic and Veje’s work to plan, analyse and create an overview of traffic development in Aarhus. The collected data is used both in relation to traffic analyses and to see day-to-day development, e.g. in connection with road work, major changes and abnormal events. Technology: Data is collected from approximately 400 measurement points on selected sections in Aarhus Municipality. Every time a car passes by with a mobile phone where the bluetooth device is turned on, it is registered. By looking at the time it takes for the car to travel from one measuring point to the next, the travel time can be converted into a map showing the current availability. The system is provided by Blipsystems.com. Storage of data: The data set consists of two data resources. Below is an explanation of the individual fields of the two data resources. Time period: The two data resources are updated differently. BlipTrack metadata is updated every time there are changes to the individual sensors, e.g. new location or calibration of distance, etc. BlipTrack Latest is updated every 5 minutes. Time zone for timetamp is UTC Historical data is not collected as it will require significantly more space and because it is relatively simple to set up a service that stores the individual data in the resolution needed. In this way, the individual user can set this up to suit their own purposes and needs.
