资源简介:
Syzygium buxifolium is a species of Myrtaceae widely distributed in Hunan regions and used for both horticultural and traditional Chinese medicinal purposes. However, studies on the chloroplast genome of Syzygium buxifolium have yet to be reported. In this study, we sequenced, assembled, and characterized the chloroplast genome of Syzygium buxifolium using Illumina sequencing technologies. The chloroplast genome of Syzygium buxifolium is 158,581bp in length and contains 111 unique genes, including 78 protein-coding genes, 29 tRNA genes, and four rRNA genes. Our phylogenomic analysis indicated that S. buxifolium was close to S. grijsii. DNA polymorphism analyses showed that the petD intron could be used as a DNA barcoding to identify both species. These findings lay the foundation for further research on the function of the Syzygium buxifolium chloroplast genome and its role in plant systematics and evolution.
