Waipa District Plan - Special Feature Area: Flood Hazard

Flood hazard areas in the Waipa District Plan. It includes flood areas, flood ponds and secondary flow paths. This layer is a subset of the "Waipa District Plan - Special Feature Area" also on this data portal. Flood hazard areas are based on the Te Awamutu Flood Management study, Opus study for Benn/Redoubt Roads and local knowledge. Peat areas are based on the NZLRI and are suitable at smaller scales (such as 1:50,000) only. All other hazards are generalised positions and can only be determined using site specific surveys. NOTE: This dataset can only be downloaded in a WGS 1984 projection. For accurate spatial analysis in New Zealand, ensure it is reprojected to the NZ standard projection. The Waipa District Plan was made operative on 14 August 2017 and has legal effect from this date.
