Free learning resources for upper secondary education

The National Digital Learning Arena (NDLA) is an intercounty municipal collaboration that offers freely available open digital learning resources for upper secondary education. Vestland County Municipality is the legally responsible unit for the intercounty municipal cooperation, in which 10 county municipalities participate. NDLA’s vision is to create good, open digital learning resources for all subjects in upper secondary education and support students and teachers in active and participatory learning work. The learning resources NDLA was established as a project in 2007 and launched the first learning resources the 2008 &ndash school year; 2009. Since then, the portfolio of subjects has been expanded year by year. The long-term goal is for NDLA to be able to offer complete teaching materials in all subjects in upper secondary education. As of 1 January 2020, NDLA offers learning resources in 104 different exam subjects. Through the work of developing digital learning resources and spreading good educational use of them, NDLA has developed a strong professional network for cooperation and distribution between the county authorities. Therefore, NDLA is constantly invited as a partner for large and small initiatives in the field of education both nationally and internationally.
