This study explores local community interest in ecosystem services provided by potential tree plantation sites selected by residents within two distinct landscapes: "Frontier" and "Intensifying." The findings indicate that people tend to choose sites offering multiple ecosystem services, suggesting the potential for these areas to support multifunctional restoration efforts. Identifying locally valued ecosystem services can inform the planning and goal-setting process for forest restoration planning, ensuring alignment with the socio-ecological context of each landscape.
