The expression landscape of hepatocarcinogeneis in a rat model

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) initiation is characterized by the sequential stepwise accumulation of molecular alterations. However, the earliest events during the dynamic temporal trend of hepatocarcinogenesis are still unknown. Using a diethylnitrosamine (DEN)-induced rat HCC model, we report a comprehensive transcriptomic landscape of liver tissues at the stages of hepatitis, cirrhosis, and HCC. To profile the expression landscape in rat HCC model, we performed microarray expression profiling on 9 liver tissues and 3 HCC tissue, including 3 from normal mock group, 3 from liver hepatitis group (LH), 3 from liver cirrhosis group (LC), and 3 from HCC group.
