Pool GBS on 397 Trifolium pratense populations for quantitative genetic analysis of agronomic traits.

EUCLEG aimed at providing tools and knowledge to improve the genetic progress in five major legume species: two forages, alfalfa and red clover, and three grain legumes, pea, faba bean and soybean. This implied genotyping, phenotyping and statistical work. We developed molecular data through genotyping by sequencing (GBS) for forage legumes including Trifolium pratense, to increase resource levels sufficiently for molecular breeding. These new markers are used to describe genetic diversity and to improve the efficiency of breeding programmes.
