资源简介:
Issue No. 17 from the series “scriptum — Work Results from the Geological Service North Rhine-Westphalia” presents the results of a project with which the NRW Ministry of Economics commissioned the Geological Service NRW to investigate potential suspects for heavy quakes using paleoseismology in the area of the Lower Rhine Bay. This region is currently the most active earthquake area in West Germany. It is part of an intercontinental weakness zone and is permeated by a series of NW-SE-stroke disturbances that still move relative to each other today, causing earthquakes to occur.
