Medium groundwater regeneration 2021-2050

The data set contains the mean groundwater formation in the period 2021-2050 modelled with the water balance model ArcEGMO based on precipitation and temperatures from the regional climate projection WETTREG2010_A1B_66. In precipitation, WETTREG2010_A1B_66 projects decreases and thus provides fundamentals for water management and water law issues for estimation in the area of critical conditions of the water supply. The land resources of the Free State of Saxony of the mean temperature and precipitation projected in WETTREG2010_A1B_66 from 2021 to 2050 correspond to the averages actually observed in 2014-2019. The projected temperature is thus currently lagging behind reality two decades. The new groundwater formation in the solid rock area is defined as a slow groundwater drain and in the loose rock area as the sum of slow and fast groundwater drainage. Data source is the water balance portal. For the local reference, the plausibility of the values must be checked against the user. In principle, the scenario character of the mean values for groundwater regeneration must be taken into account. Due to the real climate change by 2050, the reported values can be below and exceeded.
