Treatment of urban waste water; energy consumption 1981-2012

This table contains figures for urban or public sewage treatment plants under management at water boards. This table shows the results of energy consumption and energy generation in the treatment of urban waste water. The table contains information on: —the production and consumption of biogas, including for electricity production and heating of the sludge fermentation process; —the consumption of natural gas, domestic fuel oil and electricity; —heat production by hot water or steam; —the production of electricity using biogas. The results shall be specified by type of sewage treatment, per sludge stabilisation method and per size class of the treatment plants. Data available from: From 1981 to 2012.
