MyPlace: Mobility and Sight loss

The data was produced with 9 service users at Henshaws, an organisation that supports anyone with sight loss in northern England. The fieldwork was carried out using participatory research and a mobile ethnography. The data collection included workshops 'in place' and 'on the move', including visual methods (body mapping, user profiles and photography), group discussion, individual qualitative interviews and personal fieldwork diaries. The data was analysed using grounded theory; opportunities for feedback and review were provided for service users during face-to-face sessions, including a printed feedback booklet and accompanying slide show on a large Plasma screen for easy reading.
