资源简介:
These observational datasets were taken as Hurricane Ian (2022) made landfall in southwestern Florida. The data was collected, created or utilized for the NOPP Hurricane Coastal Impacts (NHCI) program. From Moskiatis et al. (2025): "The tropical cyclone that would become Ian formed in the eastern Caribbean Sea at 06 UTC 23 September 2022. It gained strength as it tracked west and then northwest, crossing western Cuba as a major hurricane on the morning of Sept. 27th. Ian emerged into the SE Gulf at 12 UTC 27 September 2022 as a 100 kt storm. Over the next 24 h it went through an eyewall replacement cycle and rapidly intensified to a 140 kt Category 5 hurricane (its lifetime peak intensity) at 12 UTC 28 September 2022. The hurricane subsequently made landfall on the SW coast of the Florida peninsula at 1905 UTC on 28 Sept 2020 as a 130 kt Category 4 hurricane". Hurricane Ian caused catastrophic flooding and collapse of the Sanibel Island Causeway as it made landfall near Ft. Myers Beach, FL. These observational datasets from Hurricane Ian includes measurements from observational wave buoys: A-size and full size Directional Wave Spectra Drifters (A-DWSDs and DWSDs), microSWIFT buoys, and Spotter buoys, as well as nearshore sensors and remotely sensed satellite measurements. The wave buoys and nearshore sensors were deployed 1-3 days prior to the hurricane landfall. A full description of the storm, observations, and model assets are found in the NHCI Data and Storm Catalog: Moskaitis, J., R. Luettich, J. Thomson, M. Bilskie, J. Davis, j. veeramony, Z. Cobell, D.
