Landscape Influence Area of Vézelay

Since the Universal Exceptional Value (V.U.E.) of the UNESCO Property of Vézelay is likely to be impacted by wind projects, a study of the Landscape Influence Area of the site has been carried out in order to protect the Good in what is essential. This study leads to a preservation area supplemented by an area of vigilance taking into account the heritage dimension of the property as well as the emblematic views. Without legal value but developing technical and methodological arguments, this study will provide support for future projects for decision-making and the preparation of impact assessments. However, this work, which results from argumented methodological choices, should be used with discernment. In particular, two points of attention should be taken into account: * it was chosen to perform the visibility calculations with 180 m wind turbines at the end of the blade; * zonings were determined from geography (topography) and empirical field work but also from a model, numerical calculations and arbitrations. For all these reasons, the contours of the different zonings are often a transition zone that needs to be deepened as needed.
