This is a Scalp account book of the Tamworth Rural Lands Protection Board. The volume is arranged chronologically.Under the Pastures Protection Act of 1902 (No.111, 1902) and subsequent legislation, each Board was required to keep account books to be presented when required for inspection. This account book contains the financial records showing the bounties or rewards paid for animal scalps. It lists the name of the scalp-collector, number of species killed, total amount paid and cheque number. It also includes a 6 month Recapitulation which had been signed off in audit.Custody History These files were in the custody of the Tamworth Rural Lands Protection Board until 10 February 1995 when they were transferred to the Regional Archives.Physical Characteristics The material comprises one separate bound volume.
