Uranouchi Bay Metagenomics project

The Uranouchi Bay Metagenomics project has collected seawater samples (0.2-0.8 um) during the 20 months from January 2017 to September 2018, and continuous daily samples (0.2-3 um and >3 um) from May 30th to June 7th, 2019. In brief, a total of 59 samples from 51 days, three years were DNA shotgun sequenced and the resulting data processed using a bioinformatic pipeline, which was developed to handle large-scale data sets, yielding high-quality sequencing reads, assemblies, and gene predictions. Based on the data, seasonal dynamics of microbial communities and functional genes were investigated. Moreover, a Japanese Coastal NCLDV (giant viruses) genome dataset was generated. Here we provide the sequencing raw reads. Further information will be released in the coming publications.
