Evaluation of global gene expression changes in the larval intestines of PNGase-like (Pngl) mutant Drosophila

Mutations in Drosophila Pngl lead to structural and functional abnormalities in the larval intestine. Here we report using RNA-sequencing of Drosophila larval intestines to determine the effects of loss of Pngl on the transcriptome in this tissue. Third instar Drosophila larvae with the following four different genotypes were synchronized at 96 hours after egg laying: 1. yellow white (y w control), 2. y w; Pngl[ex14]/CyO (Pngl heterozygous), 3. y w; Pngl[ex14]/Pngl[ex14] (Pngl homozygous), and 4. y w; Pngl[ex14]/Pngl[ex14]; PBac{Pngl[wt]Ch322-3O13}VK27 (Pngl homozygous rescued by one copy of a Pngl genomic transgene).
