Nearfield Plume Hindcast of the Ixtoc I blowout in the Bay of Campeche from June 1979 to March 1980 using the Texas A&M Oilspill Calculator

This dataset contains the hindcast predictions of the nearfield (vertical rising) plume and surface boil of the Ixtoc I accident for the duration of the spill event (June 1979 to March 1980). Model results are computed using an integral model of the Texas A&M Oilspill Calculator (TAMOC). The model accounts for both stratification and crossflow, and these results are for the Bent Plume Module of TAMOC. Boundary conditions include conductivity, temperature, and depth (CTD) profiles and currents estimated from historical data.
