Virtual Reality (VR) is increasingly being integrated into middle and secondary school education, offering immersive and interactive learning experiences. This study examines the efficacy of VR as a digital learning tool by exploring its affordances, challenges, and impact on student engagement and knowledge retention. Through classroom observations and narrative interviews with educators, the research highlights VR’s potential to enhance student motivation, facilitate experiential learning, and support diverse educational needs, including special education. However, findings also reveal challenges related to curriculum integration, teacher training, logistical constraints, and student distractions. The study underscores the importance of structured curriculum mapping, professional development, and institutional support in ensuring the effective implementation of VR in classrooms. Ultimately, this research provides actionable insights for educators and policymakers seeking to leverage VR technology to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
