LandEcoTraits Dataset

The LandEcoTraits dataset comprises 72227 trait records from 4134 individuals of 297 species, mainly from fields, ruderal habitats, dry, mesic and wet grasslands, reeds and salt marshes, in their natural environment. The species were collected in Germany, The Netherlands (Zeeland), Denmark (Mydtjylland), and Svalbard (see “Country”, “Region”, “Location”, “plotID”, “plot” and coordinates in the dataset). Traits comprise morphological traits including organ masses and C and N element contents (see below). The column “SampledPlantOrgans” indicates whether organs of the “whole plant” or selected organs were sampled. In case of “whole plant”, measurements were taken from seeds, leaves, stems, roots and rhizomes (if applicable) from the same individual (“Plant_ID”), allowing to assess allocation strategies at the level of an individual.
