If Rosa Parks Took the Bus Today: Surveillance, Bias & Injustice

This zine explores how Facial Recognition Technology (FRT) and predictive policing systems are unjustly designed pieces of technology. Inspired by Rosa Parks, it asks; What if Rosa Parks took the bus today?” connecting past civil rights struggles with present digital injustices.
By combining real-world case studies, intersectional theory, and design justice principles, this zine shows how public technologies criminalise Black communities through biased design and deployment. The objective is to challenge readers to imagine a future where tech supports equity, not control.
