In this study, we conducted 14 short-term temperature-manipulated size fractionation experiments to estimate the effect of warming on the growth rate, grazing pressure, community composition, and community functions of heterotrophic and autotrophic prokaryotes in Daya Bay (DYB) and the Pearl River Estuary. We used 3 and 6 degrees above the TA as the warming treatment, and included a cooling treatment (i.e., 3 and 6 degrees below the TA), to have a temperature range as broad as possible
