Vegetation structure and composition in burned areas: 44 line transect inventories in Aragón, Spain

This dataset contains 44 vegetation inventories conducted in experimental areas affected by large wildfires (>100 ha) in Aragón, Northeastern Spain. Sampling followed the Lineal Transect Inventory Method for Phanerophytes and Chamaephytes (MIFC; Cámara & Díaz del Olmo, 2013). Each transect corresponds to a rectangular plot measuring 10 m in length by 2 m in width (20 m² total area). Start and end points of each transect were georeferenced using GNSS instruments with sub-meter accuracy. A total of approximately 3,000 individual plants were recorded, including both chamaephytes and phanerophytes. For each individual, the dataset provides taxonomic information (species label and species code according to AMITFC 2017), structural measurements, and spatial position relative to the transect. This dataset enables the analysis of the structure, composition, and reproductive strategies of vegetation communities regenerating after wildfires in pine forests and shrublands. It can be used to assess post-fire ecological dynamics and inform forest management and restoration practices.
