Yukon Contaminants Database: Long-term Monitoring of Contaminant Levels in Yukon Wildlife (1988-2009)

The Yukon Contaminant Committee and AANDC Regional office Yukon have spent over 20 years building an NCP database of contaminants analysis results and a tissue archive of samples. This database provides long-term monitoring of organic compounds and metals in mammals, fishes, birds, and plants of Yukon. One of the objectives was to determine levels and temporal trends in contaminants in traditional food to enable northerners to make informed choices about food consumption.
