Clofoctol derivative suppresses SARS-CoV-2 via fatty acid metabolism interference

The ongoing spread and evolution of SARS-CoV-2 strains necessitate the identification of compounds with broad-spectrum antiviral potential. In this study, ten clofoctol derivatives were evaluated for their antiviral efficacy against SARS-CoV-2 in vitro, with compound 10 emerging as the most promising candidate, exhibiting superior antiviral activity and lower cytotoxicity than clofoctol.
