Transcript profiling for Zingiber

The genus Zingiber belongs to the pan-tropic family Zingiberaceae. Different breeding strategies, e.g. sexuality, clonality or combination of both, are found in species of this genus, which makes it a good system to study the relationship between reproductive strategy and genetic basis of adaptation. This project aims to explore the transcriptomic differences and mechanisms behind the reproductive strategies using sexual active and inactive Zingiber species.
