This FAIRsharing record describes: The Proteomics Standards Initiative (PSI) is part of the Human Proteome Organisation (HUPO) and was initially founded at the Human Proteome Initiative Workshop in April 2002 (hosted by the NIH/NCI and FDA in Bethesda, MD, USA). HUPO PSI defines community standards for data representation in proteomics and interactomics to facilitate data comparison, exchange and verification. The HUPO PSI has a subsidiary role supporting other HUPO projects and working groups, aiming to ensure collaboration and consistency in the data management approaches taken by the HUPO proteomics initiatives. Organizational working groups for the Proteomics Standards Initiative are organized into the following work groups: Molecular Interactions (MI), Mass Spectrometry (MS), Proteomics Informatics (PI), Protein Modifications (MOD), and Protein Separation (PS).
