Nine strains of Mycobacterium avium complex were obtained from human MAC-LD patients and divided into two groups to make the mixtures for infection. BALB/c mice were intranasally infected with these MAC strain mixtures and infected lungs. MAC strains in infected lungs were cultured on 7H10 plates, followed by extraction of genomic DNA and WGS. WGS was also carried out for individual nice strains and the initial mixtures for infection.
