MetUM-GOML3.0 Chlorophyll Perturbation Datasets

This item contains processed datasets for the published, peer-reviewed manuscript “The effect of seasonally and spatially varying chlorophyll on Bay of Bengal surface ocean properties and the South Asian Monsoon”. The datasets were originally output from the Met Office’s Unified Model coupled to the Global Ocean Mixed Layer 3.0 configuration (MetUM-GOML3.0). The datasets were then processed for numerical and statistical analyses to investigate robust physical mechanisms linking oceanic perturbations to local and remote atmospheric responses. Two 30-year simulations were performed: a control run with globally constant chlorophyll and a perturbation run with seasonally varying chlorophyll in the Bay of Bengal. The datasets can be used to reproduce selected figures in the manuscript that contain model data. <br>The datasets are a mixture of NetCDF (.nc), NumPy array (.npy) and text (.txt) files. Most file names follow a general labelling method (not necessarily in this order): <i>Variable + model run + analysis type + month(s) + file extension</i>
