We profiled serum sncRNAs in a controlled goat twin-pair model to assess the impact of caprine versus bovine early-life feeding. Six dairy goat dams vaccinated against Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP) and their 12 kids were enrolled. Within each twin pair, one kid received its dam's colostrum and milk (within-species feeding) and the co-twin received bovine colostrum followed by bovine milk replacer (cross-species feeding). Small RNA-seq was performed on (i) serum from dams and kids at defined early neonatal time points, after colostrum feeding (T1) and 3 weeks later (T21), and (ii) milk/colostrum samples from goat dams and bovine milk replacer. This dataset provides raw reads to support reanalysis of sncRNA dynamics associated with neonatal nutrition and immune development in ruminants.
