Bacterial profiles of the human placenta based on mode of delivery, the placental site under investigation, and COVID-19 infection status

The objective of this study was to use 16S rRNA gene sequencing to characterize the bacterial profiles of cesarean and vaginally-delivered placentas from women with and without COVID-19 infection and compare these profiles to those of technical controls for background DNA contamination.
