Citizen Participation In North Carolina's Coastal Area Management Program

I tried to answer three general questions which seemed to be basic to the problem. These questions are: a. What kinds of involvement are both meaningful for people and for the planning process? b. How can people be moved to become more involved in local and state coastal planning? c. What kinds of involvement are most acceptable to local government officials? The purpose of this paper is to present what I found in regard to the above questions, and what I think should be done.
