Thirteen months of hydrological data from the experimental urban Breuil rain garden (Paris, France)

The two experimental Breuil Rain Gardens (BRG1 and BRG2) are located on the campus of École du Breuil in the Vincennes wood of Paris (France). BRG1 and BRG2 are lined (concrete box) bioretention cells with similar configurations (25m²), differing only by the location of the underdrain. Each cell collects runoff from a 75 m² metal roof catchment and is constituted of 3 layers: a silty-loam soil of 140 cm, a transition layer (geotextile), and 60 cm of gravel for storage/drainage (depending on the drainage outlet position). Each cell is also planted with ornamental ground-covering plants, shrubs or low trees, and one tree; and soil hydrodynamic characteristics are investigated through field/lab tests. The two BRGs are monitored to quantify the site water budget with a classical meteorological station, including rainfall, the inflow (runoff), drainage, soil water content, and water storage in the gravel layer. All these measurements are continuous and during a long period; for this deposit, we decided to share data between 2024-06-01 and 2025-06-30 at a 2min time-step.
