VPRS 11356 Teacher Registration Cards - Category Registration

This series of cards was created by the Teacher Registration Council (VA 1226) and subsequently by the Teachers Registration Board (VA 4087) in order to register all secondary school teachers in Victoria approved to teach in a special category. The primary school teacher category registration cards have been inter sorted with the series of Primary Teacher Registration Cards. The teacher categories within this series are Librarian, Instrumental Music Teacher, Remedial Support Teacher, Foreign Language Assistant, and Special Education Teacher.The cards record the name and date of birth of the teacher, the teachers tertiary qualifications, the date registration was granted, and the date of resignation from the Departments employ.In the top left hand corner of the card is a file number which relates to each teachers application for registration file which was maintained by the Employment Assessment Centre. These files have been destroyed.It should be noted that even though a teacher was registered, this did not mean that they actually taught in Victoria.
