According to the 76th round of the NSO survey conducted between July and December 2018, a higher percentage of disabled men than disabled women were present. In 2018, the western state of Maharashtra had the highest share of men with disability in it's rural areas at three percent. The National Statistical Office (NSO) is the statistical wing of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MOSPI), mainly responsible for laying down standards for statistical analysis, data collection, and implementation.
