Safe Drinking Water Information System

The Safe Drinking Water Information System (SDWIS) is a database maintained by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that contains information about public drinking water systems. It tracks states' compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and records violations pertaining to water quality and reporting requirements. The database can be queried using either basic or advanced search options based on report variables that include Public Water System (PWS) ID, PWS Name, PWS Type (e.g., Community Water System), Primary Source, Counties Served, Cities Served, Population, Served Count, Number of Facilities, Number of Violations, and Number of Site Visits.
