Re-integrated and improved genome annotation of Dicyema japonicum

This dataset presents a re-integrated and improved genome annotation for Dicyema japonicum, a unique endoparasitic mesozoan of significant biological and evolutionary interest. In contrast to the previously available public annotation, this version was generated by integrating multiple lines of evidence—including ab initio predictions, protein homology, and transcriptome data—followed by extensive manual curation and filtering. This process has significantly enhanced the accuracy of gene prediction and the overall completeness of the annotation. The resulting dataset is intended to serve as a more reliable and comprehensive genomic resource for researchers in comparative genomics, parasitology, and the early evolution of metazoans.
