Scaptomyza flava midgut RNA-sequencing following herbivory

In contrast to Drosophila melanogaster, Scaptomyza flava larvae live and feed on leaf tissue from live plants within the family Brassicaceae. The goal of this study was to better understand how the larvae overcome the natural herbivory defense response initiated by host plants. Larvae were reared on plants without glucosinolates and then transferred for either 3 of 12 hours to plants with or without (control) glucosinolates. RNA-seq was then performed on midgut tissue from multiple larvae from each of these conditions.
